The City of Mont-Saint-Hilaire requires the replacement of the felled tree by the planting in the front yard of a native tree with a minimum trunk diameter of 5 cm measured at 1 meter from the ground if the property does not have a density of one tree per 50m2. To obtain a tree cutting permit, the property owner must apply for a tree cutting permit online with the City of Mont-Saint-Hilaire.
The City of Mont-Saint-Hilaire does not provide grants for tree removal or planting.
