Conditions for the felling of trees

The City of Marieville permits the removal of trees under the following conditions:

• The tree is dead or damaged
• The tree is affected by a disease or infected by an insect.
• The land has too much woodland.
• The tree is dangerous to the safety of people or damage to property
• The tree is harmful to the growth of other nearby trees.
• The tree must be cut down for a construction project approved by the City of Marieville.
• The tree is an aesthetic nuisance

The City of Marieville provides citizens with a detailed document explaining all the conditions surrounding the cutting of trees.

Tree planting

The City of Marieville shall require the replacement of the felled tree within twelve months of the issuance of the felling certificate.

Permit for tree cutting

To obtain a tree cutting permit, the owner must apply for a tree cutting permit from the City of Marieville through the Planning Department at urbanisme@ville.marieville.qc.ca.

Tree Planting Grant

The City of Marieville does not provide grants for tree removal or planting.
