The City of Chambly permits the cutting of trees under the following conditions:
The tree is dead or damaged
The tree is an ash tree
The tree is affected by a disease or infected by an insect.
The tree is dangerous to the safety of people or damage to property
The tree is a nuisance; the front yard has many trees generating negative impacts on the property such as lack of sunlight inside the house, obstruction of windows and balconies. Several trees may be removed provided that at least one is retained.
Some areas of the city are subject to site-wide tree protection measures. If in doubt, contact the Planning and Land Development Department by email at permis@ville.chambly.qc.ca.
Tree planting
The City of Chambly is requesting that the felled tree be replaced by the planting of a deciduous tree with a trunk diameter of at least 50 millimetres in the front yard.
Permit for tree cutting
To obtain a tree cutting permit, the owner must apply for a tree cutting permit from the City of Chambly in person or online through the Planning and Land Development Department. The certificate of authorization for the felling of a tree is free.

Tree Planting Grant
The City of Chambly does not provide grants for tree removal or planting.
