The municipality of Rougemont allows the felling of trees under the following conditions:
The tree is dead or damaged
The tree is affected by a disease or infected by an insect.
The tree is dangerous to the safety of people or damage to property
The tree is harmful to the growth of other nearby trees.
The tree must be cut down for a construction project approved by the municipality of Rougemont.
The tree is an aesthetic nuisance
Tree planting
In the municipality of Rougemont, all dead or felled trees must be replaced within 12 months.
Permit for tree cutting
To obtain a tree cutting permit, the owner must apply for a tree cutting permit from the Municipality of Rougemont through the Urban Planning Department at urbanisme@rougemont.ca.
The prices for the various tree cutting permit applications are available on the Rougemont municipality’s website. However, there is no charge for a permit to cut down trees in the front yard.
Tree Planting Grant
The municipality of Rougemont does not offer subsidies for tree cutting or planting.
