Conditions for the felling of trees

The Municipality of Saint-Angèle-de-Monnoir allows the felling of trees with a diameter greater than 10 cm at the stump, measured at 1.2 meters from ground level, under the following conditions

• The tree is dead or damaged
• The tree is affected by a disease or infected by an insect. (The Municipality of Saint-Angèle-de-Monnoir requires a written notice prepared and signed by a competent authority in the matter in the application for a permit)
• The tree is dangerous for human safety. (The Municipality of Saint-Angèle-de-Monnoir requires a written notice prepared and signed by a competent authority in the matter in the application for a permit)
• The tree is dangerous to damage the property
• The tree is harmful to the growth of other nearby trees.
• The tree must be cut down for a construction project approved by the municipality of Saint-Angèle-de-Monnoir.
• The City of Saint-Angèle-de-Monnoir recommends that tree cutting be done by a competent authority.

Tree planting

In the Municipality of Saint-Angèle-de-Monnoir, tree replacement is required where the density of trees on the lot is less than one tree (deciduous and coniferous) per 200 square meters of lot area, or where the number is less than two trees (deciduous and coniferous) per lot. A new deciduous tree must be a minimum of 2 metres in height and a new coniferous tree must be a minimum of 1.2 metres in height at planting.

Permit for tree cutting

In order to obtain a tree cutting permit, the owner must apply to the municipality of Saint-Angèle-de-Monnoir for a tree cutting permit.

Tree Planting Grant

The municipality of Saint-Angèle-de-Monnoir does not offer subsidies for tree cutting or planting.
